More and more brides are choosing the fall season for their weddings. Here are some ideas to make the day unique using fall themes.

Many people think fall is the best time of year. The leaves are changing and the hot weather of summer is usually over. It’s no surprise that fall is very popular when it comes to choosing a time of year for a wedding. Here are some ideas to get the creative juices flowing.

Fall Wedding Colors

Brown is becoming increasingly popular of a color to have as a base with pink or blue as an accent to create that rich, fall feel. Brown looks good on just about everyone and other wedding elements, such as flowers, can be easily arranged with the color brown in mind.

Burgundy is the color of red wine and has a great fall feel to it. Burgundy is less common so this option might be good for the bride that wants to do something more unique. It can be tricky to pick accent colors, but gold, or bright oranges and yellows may go nicely. For more information on colors, Style Me Pretty is a great blog featuring real weddings and has an entire section on color palates.

Use of Fall Leaves

Outside of colors, there are lots of ways to make a wedding feel like fall. One way is to incorporate fall leaves. They can be used in place of flowers that the flower girl can throw as she comes down the aisle, hung like garland on the back row of chairs (this works especially well if the wedding is outdoors), and placed around the centerpieces.

Fall Flowers

Flowers can be the most fun way to make the wedding feel like fall. It can be as easy as having a florist (or having someone else pull from their own garden) gather any flowers that are brightly colored for the big day. In addition to having the bride and bridesmaid carrying bright bouquets down the aisle, they can also be scattered around the ceremony and cocktail hour area. This does not have to be expensive, just creative.

Pumpkins

Pumpkins can be used as centerpieces, decorative garnishes on the buffet table or around the cocktail hour area. Pumpkins can also used when choosing the food for the reception. Items like pumpkin or squash ravioli are unique when it comes to wedding cuisine and play well into the fall theme.

These are just a few ideas that brides can use when planning a wedding in the fall time period. As more and more brides get married during this time of year, there will become even more of a need for unique ways to incorporate this gorgeous season.
