Although some traditional favors, such as round containers of Jordan almonds, often come with a monogram, why not use it on other favors as well? Guitar picks can be cheaply purchased with a couple's initials, as can pretty much any other kind of favor. Jars of homemade jam? Oversized Ts and Is (and Ps and Qs…)
For a bolder statement that can still be chic, consider purchasing large papier-mache letters from a local Jo-Ann Fabric’s store. The largest letters are about 2.5 feet tall, and the middle-sized ones are about 1.5 feet tall. Although they come in cardboard brown, they can be spray-painted to fit into your reception décor, whether they are all one color or the last initial a different color than the two first initials. These can either be placed on a table or hung from a tent ceiling, and would be especially chic in silver or gold.

If the idea of using initials really resonates, think about using initials as a non-cheesy “theme” for your wedding. Begin by incorporating initials in your invitations, setting the mood for the party to come. Then, consider hanging a flower wreath of your initials outside the wedding location, whether it’s a church or chairs on a beach. At the reception, incorporate some-or all-of the details mentioned above, and enjoy a wedding as unique as you and your new spouse.
Thank yous: the final chapter of your wedding
When thanking your guests for coming to your beautiful wedding and for the gifts they’ve given you, use thank you cards that incorporate a similar design to your invitations. Not only will guests appreciate your gesture, they might also remember your elegant use of your initials throughout the process and commend you on a successful theme. But if not, at least you know that you pulled off a theme wedding that was chic instead of eek!
