Flowers aren't the only choice for weddings with a green color theme. Fashion a unique wedding centerpiece that will leave wedding guests green with envy.
Green is becoming more and more popular as a wedding color. And why not? Green evokes a sense of natural beauty (and money) and has plenty of different shades to work with. Whether the wedding color is a deep forest green or a cheerful lime hue, these ideas for wedding centerpieces will fit right in. Green Objects for the Wedding Centerpiece
Green Centerpiece Ideas Green Apple Centerpiece Place a tall pillar candle in the center of a large platter. Stack green apples around the candle. For extra pizzazz, add small silk butterflies among the apples. Or, for a fall wedding, layer the platter with colorful leaves before stacking the apples. Sweet Tooth Centerpiece Use several inexpensive glass vases in different heights. Choose either straight vases or curvy vases, depending on the overall feel of the reception (the straight vases look more modern). Fill each vase with a different kind of green candy, such as jelly beans (these come in several different shades of green), M&Ms, Skittles and Jolly Ranchers. Arrange the vases on a platter and add candles, if desired. For more whimsy, place two or three small, green frogs among the vases. Give guests small containers or bags to take candy home. Christmas Tree Centerpiece A Christmas tree-styled centerpiece can easily be styled to match the wedding décor. Choose either a potted live tree, or a fake tree (get these on sale right after Christmas). Decorate the tree to match the rest of the wedding. Some possibilities for “ornaments” include various pictures of the bride and groom, trivia questions about the couple, small favors, flowers and seashells. This has a lot of room for imagination. Decorate the tree with small Christmas lights if desired. Just remember to keep flames away from the actual tree. Field of Dreams Centerpiece Ask the florist to get trays of fresh grass and plant them in large bonsai pots or other shallow containers. Top the grass with small flowers, cute figurines, a scroll with a favorite quote, marshmallow peeps or marzipan fruits and animals. Coming Up With New IdeasFinding inspiration for a green wedding centerpiece is simple. Take a walk in a local park, visit the produce section at the supermarket and browse the aisles of a nearby craft store. Think back to favorite vacations, hobbies and foods to see if anything stands out. This is a wonderful opportunity to weave some of the couple’s personality into the wedding décor.
